MAPSERVICESOM – AN INTERFACE TO USE ANY TYPE OF MAP SERVICE WITHIN YOUR GIS
There is a large choice of free map services on the internet. Map service providers such as OpenStreetMap (OSM) assemble geographic data from around the world and visualize rivers, mountains, streets, railways, buildings, etc. on online maps, satellite pictures and aerial photographs. If you want to use free map data, GEOMAGIC’s interface MapServiceSOM lets you integrate this data into your existing geographic information system. The MapServiceSOM interface does not only work with free map data, but lets you use any type of map in the GIS.
The MapServiceSOM interface is compatible with the GE products Smallworld Internet Application Server (SIAS) and GeoSpatial Server (GSS), as well as with GEOMAGIC’s GeoNAM and LaRA software.
